delicate drafts brush against my face
as i contemplate this blank page
the ink is drying in its well
this mansion has become my cell

as i retrieved the papers that had scattered across the room
for the first time i noticed a journal on the shelf by the window
the dating suggested it must have belonged to the prior tenant of this old house

but the more i read the more i can see
no choice but to maybe believe?
